Please join us for a lecture “The Architectural Anatomy of Covenant Churches: An Historical Look at Sacred Spaces” by Dr. Philip Anderson, professor of church history at North Park Theological Seminary.
The illustrated lecture will explore the development of a rich variety of architectural styles in Covenant congregations throughout the United States since the 1860s. Exterior and interior designs have reflected both the emerging American identity of an immigrant denomination through the generations, as well as differing understandings of worship.
An exhibit of historic photographs of Covenant Churches from the Covenant Archives and Historical Library will be on display through the fall and winter in the lower level of Brandel Library.
