Wednesday, October 7
4:00 to 6:00 pm (Lecture to begin at 4:30 pm)
Brandel Library, First Floor
Free and open to the public
Join North Park University and Sacred Space International for an interfaith dialogue and exhibit centered around large-scale architectural models of selected Chicago area churches. The fascinating models are currently on display in the lobby area of Brandel Library.
Sacred Space International seeks to draw awareness to the diversity of faith traditions and bring sacred spaces to light for an expanding public. Deirdre Colgan, executive director, will introduce the exhibition and collection and give a general introduction to the organization. Founder Suzanne Morgan will speak about the models and the particular spaces they represent, and Tidža Causevic will present a talk about the diversity of worship spaces in Albany Park.

Library Director Sally Anderson encourages faculty as well as students to attend. She has worked with the representatives of Sacred Space International and can help professors integrate the concepts from the exhibit and bring guest speakers to their courses.
Looking ahead to November, Seminary professor of church history Phil Anderson will present a lecture on Covenant Church architecture to accompany an exhibit in the Archives on that subject. Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm for Dr. Anderson’s lecture.
